Bajo la dirección del entrenador Thomas Christiansen desde 2020, ha consolidado una estructura con jugadores experimentados y rendimiento estable en la región. Su reciente ranking FIFA refleja su ascenso dentro del top‑40 mundial.
World Cup history
Panamá disputó su primer Mundial en Rusia 2018, siendo eliminado en fase de grupos con tres derrotas, aunque logró anotar sus dos primeros goles mundiales incluidos uno ante Inglaterra a través de Felipe Baloy. Ahora disputará su segunda aparición en el Mundial 2026, formando parte del Grupo L.
