La República Checa —y anteriormente Checoslovaquia— ha alcanzado la final del Mundial en dos ocasiones (1934 en Italia y 1962 en Chile, ambas como Checoslovaquia). Desde entonces, Chequia participó en varias ediciones y su última aparición fue en 2006, antes de clasificar nuevamente para el Mundial 2026.
